Dean Diviesti stole the show with a 20.66lb bag of smallmouth. Second place went to Adam Barry with 15.33lbs. Third place and lunker went to Michael Wallace with 13.44lbs which included a tank of a largemouth that weighed 6.18lbs
It was a cold and windy day on Lillinonah but that didn't stop Vern Gatson from finding 5 fish to take the win 18.35lbs. Second place and lunker went to Quincy Ortiz with 4.52 Largemouth which gave him a total of 14.21lbs.
Quincy Ortiz takes the win at our 2 day championship on Candlewood and Lillinonah with a winning weight of 34.35 lbs and also had lunker on day 1 with a 4.63 lb largemouth. Finishing second was Dean Diviesti takes second place at our two day championship on Candlewood and Lillinonah and seals up the title of AOY for our 2023 season. Dean had a combined weight of 29.48 lbs. Travis Miller came from the back of the pack on Saturday with low weight and brought a big sack of fish to the scales on Sunday with a combined weight of 21.37 lbs and took 3rd place. Travis also caught big fish of day two with a monster largemouth weighing in at 6.80 lbs
It was a tough and hot day on Lillinonah. Only 4 anglers caught thier limit. Among those was Chris Weber who took first place with 10.42 lbs. Finishing second was AJ Said with 9.47 lbs. Big fish was caught by Jack Little who weighed in a 4.19 largemouth bass. Our next tournament is our 2 day championship August 12th on Candlewood 7-3 and August 13th on Lillinonah 6-2. Mandatory briefing meeting will be held at 6am on Candlewood at latins cove.
It was a busy and windy day on Candlewood. 8 out of 16 anglers were able to catch a limit. 63 fish for 168lbs were caught which makes the average 2.66 lbs per fish. First place went to Quincy Ortiz with his winning bag of 20.23 lbs. Second place went to Kevin Barnosky with 18.02 lbs. Third place went to AJ Said with a final weight of 16.56 lbs. Big fish went to Gary McClarran for a largemouth bass that weighed in at 5.59 lbs. Our next tournament and last one before our 2 day championship is on Lillinonah 7/29/23 6-2 and launching out of Steel Bridge. The mandatory meeting will be held approximately 5am. Remember this is the last tournament to help qualify you to fish the 2 day championship. You must fish a minimum of 4 regular season tournaments to be eligible to fish the 2 day.
It was a tough day for every angler. The top finisher out of the 9 anglers that fished was Gary McClarran with a 4 fish bag for a final weight 6.29lbs. Second place and big fish went to AJ Said with 3 fish for 6.20 lbs and a 3.17 kicker. Our next tournament is 7/22/23 on Candlewood 7-3 and launching out of latins cove. The mandatory briefing meeting will be held at 6am.
It was a wet morning but the weather had finally cleared up by mid day. Big fish and 1st place went to Mark Watkins with a 4.54 lb largemouth that gave him a total bag weight of 13.89 lbs. Finishing 2nd was Devon Grisham with 12.97 lbs. The fish were active but most anglers couldn't find the right size. 49 fish were caught for an average of just over 2 lbs. Our next tournament is 7/08/23 on the Connecticut River 6-2 and launching from Salmon River. The mandatory briefing meeting will be at 5am.
It was a windy day on Candlewood and 6 out of 14 guys were able to catch a limit. Frank Vida found 14.57 lbs of bass that had help with his big fish at 5.09 lbs. 2nd place went to Greg Del Russo with 12.75 lbs. 3rd place went to Travis Miller with 10.01 lbs. The wind and current fishing conditions at Candlewood seemed to be a problem for most of the field. Hopefully Candlewood can make a quick recovery and bounce back at being the fish factory it once was. Our next tournament is on Lillinonah 6/24/23 6:30-2:30 and launching from Steel Bridge. The mandatory briefing meeting will be at 5:30am.
I would like to thank Travis and Bill for stepping up to plate to run our tournament on Congamond as I wasn't able to be there due to covid. There were 15 anglers that showed up and 12 of them caught limits. First place went to Brian Decoteau with 13.44 lbs along with big fish that weighed 4.43 lbs. Finishing second was Quincy Ortiz with 10.40 lbs. Taking third was Gary McClarran with 10.10 lbs. Our next tournament is on Candlewood 6/17/23 7-3 and launching from Latins Cove. The mandatory briefing meeting will be at 6am.
We had another day of rain but some guys were able to figure out the right pattern. First place went to Gordon Bocash with a bag of 15.19 lbs. Second place went to Dean Diviesti with 5 fish with 13.92 lbs. Big fish weighed a whopping 6.55 lbs and was caught by Ernest Lally. Our next tournament is on Congamond 6/3/23 from 7-3. The mandatory briefing meeting is at 6:15 and there is an $8 Launch fee.
It was another tough day for most of the field. This spring has definitely made the fishing challenging. Only 4 anglers caught thier limit out of 19 guys and an 8 lb difference between 1st and 3rd. Dean Diviesti was able to find the best pattern and finished 1st place with 18.37 lbs. Second place was new member Joey Friend with 15.28 lbs and he also managed big fish of the day with a 5.05 smallmouth. Finishing 3rd place was Travis Miller with 10.09 lbs. Our next tournament is on Mansfield Hollow 6/20/23 from 6am to 2pm. There is a mandatory briefing meeting at 5am.
It was a tough day for most of the field as they had to deal with rain all day and high winds. Only 6 out of 21 anglers were able to catch a limit. Other anglers caught some quality fish but couldn't catch the quantity that was needed. First place is new member Quincy Ortiz with 17.62 lbs. Second place and current AOY went to Bill Adamson for his bag of 14.78 lbs. 3rd place also went to new meber Matthew Davis for his catch of 12.11 lbs. 4th place went to Vern Gatson with 11.42 lbs. Big fish went to Bob Napoli for his smallmouth that weighed 4.58 lbs. Even though limits weren't filled, 58 fish for 140.04 lbs were caught for almost 2-1/2 lb average. Our next tournament is on Zoar 5/6/23 6-2. The mandatory briefing meeting will be held at 5am.
